The Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA) oversees the implementation of the National Quality Framework (NQF) and works with the state and territory regulatory authorities to implement and administer the NQF.

“Research shows that quality education and care early in life leads to better health, education and employment outcomes later in life. The early years are critical for establishing self-esteem, resilience, healthy growth and capacity to learn.” (ACECQA, 2017)

Our preschools work with ACECQA to ensure that every child on the Northern Rivers can access quality early education.

Every preschool in the Northern Rivers Preschool Alliance has been approved under the Education and Care Services National Law and is assessed and rated by the NSW Department of Education.

Our preschools are assessed against the 7 quality areas of the National Quality Standard (NQS) and given an overall rating based on these results. Many of our preschools are proudly rated as Exceeding the National Quality Standard and we are committed to continuous improvement.

Preschools in the Northern Rivers Preschool Alliance receive funding through the NSW Department of Education to support the attendance of Aboriginal children, those from disadvantaged backgrounds, and those in the year before school to access preschool. The Department of Education also regulates, assesses and rates all preschools in NSW.
